Zim's [MapleSyrup] GM Application.

Since is the 4th time I've had to write this, I'm trying keeping it shorter. If there's something I haven't covered you would like to know about, feel free to ask.

General Info:

- Name: Adam.
- IGN: Zimonada.
- What Can You Call Me: Zim, Adam, Zimo, anything really.
- Age: 17.
- Sex: Male.
- Location: Ontario, Canada, about an hour from Toronto.
- Grade: 12.
- Ambitions: To go to university for engineering.
- Extracurriculars: Student Council, Newspaper Comittee Head, other volunteering, etc.
- What I'm Applying For: A general GM for MapleSyrup, or any other place I can be of help. Xat ChatBox mod as well.
- Why I'm Applying: I feel I can make a positive impact on this server and the community that plays it.

Motivation:

- As mentioned above, I'm applying to be a GM for MapleSyrup in order to better address the concerns of the community on this amazing server.
- As great as it already is, there are many things that could be improved upon, such as events and policing. I feel I am the right person to help address these issues. I would work towards creating new and enjoyable, but manageable events, and in failing to do so, bring variety in the events that take place. As well, there are periods in this server where we have a lack of events, and others when we have way too many going on; I would be sure to maintain that balance and not have events too too frequently.
- Another major responsibility of the GM's in any game is to make sure the enjoyment for the players is maintained, which means to prevent people such as hackers, scammers, advertisers, and other generally annoying people from ruining that fun. While I wouldn't spend all my time online running around in hide looking for such people, if someone brought one to my attention it would take priority. I would also leave banning as a last resort, though also use it as necessary.
- So, to sum it up, I won't run around as a Maple-Nazi, and I won't waste my time holding events every 5 minutes. I'll hang around with friends, answer questions, train occasionally, keep the peace, and participate in the server as I usually would, regardless whether I'm a GM or not. However, being a GM would make it easier for me to help maintain the fun of this server for everyone else.

Skills:

- I like to think I'm helpful; I'm very informed about the in's and out's of this server, as well as MapleStory in general, and can offer advice to those who need it.
- (You can agree or disagree with this one.) I like to think that I'm good at managing chaos; in the Xat chatbox when the server is down and people are freaking out, I'm able to spam a couple lines of THE SERVER IS DOWN and RELAX and it kinda quiets down for a minute or two... until someone new joins in and asks again. It might not be the most polite method, but it's effective.
- I have no experience as a GM in MapleStory, and although this may put me at a setback, it is not a difficult obstacle to overcome. I can read over general commands to inform myself of ways to handle situations, use common sense to handle problems, and if all else fails, ask for help from someone more experienced.
- I'm currently in a computer programming class, and we work with Java. Apparently MS is coded in Java, and although I've never coded MS, I'd be more than willing to help. I personally am not great with the actual syntax of the coding, though I am more suited towards general problem solving and working through algorithms.

Conclusion:

- I've said as much as I can think of that would help me to get this position. Honestly, I tried to avoid "fluffing" up my application just to give myself a better shot at it. So basically, what you see is what you get with me. I'm a hardworking, responsible, and fun-loving guy who would like the opportunity to improve upon an already great server. If you've got any questions, feel free to ask 'em.
